Dear Shyam Babu Ji,
I admit that I cannot stoop to your level to reply your mails containing bundle of lies. The most surprising part is that your mails are being sent to those who have nothing to do with the organisation and they laugh and ridicule your ‘naivety’. Your mail of 2ndJanuary is highly defamatory which warrants legal action against you for which you will soon be getting notice from my Advocate. However, it is necessary for me to bring forth certain facts, which I am aware that you know them well, yet you will not desist from lies, which has now become the part of your habit. Even otherwise, you cannot help it because you are only a name lender to your mails. Entire journalist community particularly of Lucknow and Jhansi knows that your mails are written by the master manipulator, who has gained expertise in thuggery and cheating.
Your mischief and your crookedness have no place for scruples but is it not a fact that there was a case against you in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court for cancellation of your accreditation with the govt of UP because you allegedly happened to be the owner of the cycle stand at Jhansi railway station?
Do you know that Mr Vikram Rao is the most hated man among the journalists of Delhi? Do you know that it was I who prepared a panel for Mr. Vikram Rao when he contested his one and the only presidential election in 1984? Do you know that Mr. Vikram Rao was beaten at the Lucknow Press Club by a Delhi journalist for misdeeds of bluffing? Do you know that Com Devendra Shastri of Jaipur had roughed up Mr. Vikram Rao for siphoning off the money of journalists in the name of arranging foreign visits? Do you know that Mr. Vikram Rao had earned crores of rupees in the name of foreign visits of journalist which were sponsored by the International Organisation of Journalist (IOJ)? Do you know that Mr. Aidan White of the ‘International Federation of Journalists’ (IFJ) put his foot down for not giving membership to IFWJ only because Mr. Vikram Rao was its President? Need I tell you that members of the IFWJ have suffered incalculable damage because Mr. Vikram Rao happened to be at the helm?
Now coming to the DUWJ, I must say that your information about it is fantastic, to say the least. I must tell you that it was KN Vatsyayan, Asstt Editor of Hindustan and LN Sheetal, my colleague in the Congress weekly, were very active members of ‘Delhi Union of Journalists’ (DUJ) and I was its executive committee member, that too, ‘without kindness’ of your present Godfather. Both of them came out from the DUJ on my request to form the DUWJ. However, they got so fed up with the style of functioning of Mr. Vikram Rao that Shri K.N. Vatsyayan had to file a case against him in the High Court of Delhi. Shri Anand Swaroop Verma and Pradeep Saurabh who succeeded Shri Vatsyayan and Shri Sheetal have been so allergic to Mr. Vikram Rao that they literally prohibited the entry of Mr. Rao in the office. Will you ask your letter writer as to who stood by him at that time? It is the height of shamelessness to say that I was thrown out of the Jansatta because of the acid throwing incident. I must tell you, although your crooked mind will not accept, that my personal relationship with the late Shri Prabhash Joshi always remained good. It is a different matter altogether that he was the part of the management and I was in the Indian Express Employees Union, which was led by indomitable and relentless leader the late Shri T.M. Nagarajan. Shri Nagarajan was a class apart, who knew only either to break or win but never to bend or bow for self interests like your Godfather.
Now if you want to know about the members of DUWJ, then I must tell you that most of them are the sub-editors, reporters, chief sub-editors and special correspondents working for different newspapers of Delhi, but I am afraid they would not like to mix up with persons of special journalistic qualities of you and your ilk.
I have already replied to you in my earlier mail that my commitment to the cause of the working class is not fake or sham like you and your ‘old’ friend. As my friends of DUWJ have rightly asked to Mr. Vikram Rao that when was he seen with the journalists in their fight against the proprietors in the last 20 years? So much so, in the Mathura meeting itself Mr Vikram Rao did not speak even a word about the journalists and their struggles on the stage but he certainly managed to make a video clipping. Has any movement or strategy for the protection of the journalists and their interests been prepared and started by Mr Vikram Rao in the last 25 years? None. By the way, has any discussion taken place in any one of the meetings chaired by Mr Vikram Rao about the Working Journalists Act, labour laws or the growing exploitation of the media persons except speeches by leaders and announcements of meetings from one Ashram to other? If you have any instance please let us know.
Last but the least, I can only pity at your colossal ignorance of legal ethics. The amount of fees taken by an advocate from the client is a fiduciary relationship between the two, which is not a subject matter of guess of the nincompoops. You have been saying that I have charged Rs 50,000/- as a ‘nominal fee’ from every person for filing the case in the Supreme Court how does it concern you? Is it causing heartburn to your proprietors, for whom who work as their informers and get paid? If that is so; I cannot help it. You stand thoroughly exposed by the fact that not even one person has come forward to vindicate your assertion.
You have not said a word about crores of rupees which have been collected by Vikram Rao from journalists through camp fees at the time of conferences and foreign visits of journalists, besides huge collections from governments and politicians.
I find that you have been going from temple to temple but as Shakespeare has said that ‘All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand’. Therefore, even God almighty does not absolve the sins of such people who thrive on exploitation and cheating.
Nevertheless, I wish you a Happy New Year,
